The Binge Wire exists to give readers accurate, entertaining and useful coverage of film, TV, streaming and music. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.
Accuracy and sourcing
- We report from primary sources wherever possible: official announcements, trailers, press releases, verified social media accounts and on-record statements.
- When we rely on another publication's reporting, we credit it.
- Rumours and unconfirmed reports are labelled as such. We don't present speculation as fact.
- Box office figures are attributed to their source, as numbers often vary between trackers.
News, reviews and opinion
- News stories report what happened. Reviews and opinion pieces share our writers' views and are clearly labelled.
- Headlines should reflect the story — we avoid misleading clickbait.
How our reviews are scored
Each review rates a title in five categories — Story, Acting, Cinematography, VFX and Screenplay — from 0 to 3 points each. The overall rating out of 5 is the total points as a share of the maximum 15 (for example, 11 of 15 points is 3.7 out of 5). Scores reflect the reviewer's honest assessment.
Independence
- We don't accept payment, gifts or special access in exchange for coverage or a particular review score.
- Advertising is kept separate from editorial decisions.
- Sponsored or partner content, if we publish it, is clearly labelled as sponsored. Affiliate links, if used, are disclosed.
Images and embeds
- We use official stills, posters and promotional material, and embed posts from official or verified accounts.
- If you own content that appears on The Binge Wire and would like it credited or removed, email admin@thebingewire.com with the subject "Copyright".
Corrections
- If we get something wrong, we fix it promptly. Significant corrections are noted at the end of the article.
- To report an error, email admin@thebingewire.com with the subject "Correction" and a link to the article.
